This came to me while I was in that stage of sleep when your not awake or asleep.3 k( D, A8 O2 s7 `
I cut out the side of a Zippo. Trimmed bits off the car to make it fit. It has a nice rake look0 g. c* t# e w: S) v
to it. Although this is done, it's not finished. There will be a decal applied around the
+ m# t# w" T$ ^- Rtransmitter. There are two red LED's on the transmitter that will be changed to blue. And1 r" x7 E) w) K
the buttons will light up blue. A small wooden case will be made for it as well.1 ^, o- y$ E; ~& s) O
I did make a mistake on this. I cut the wrong side off. So now when you look at the& a* P4 G# Q2 G3 ?1 `: n) u, |4 W/ @" U
the bottom stamp, it's upside down. Oh, well.

This was one of those projects I wanted to see if I could do. With all of my projects I used a Ronson
) R! O4 B% J) r+ V: F" C& i: Slighter as a Prototype. I then made one out of a Zippo. I was able to build a very simple circuit to
# @6 Z0 g, P# K9 H9 F% ^make the LED change from RED to GREEN. The antennae had to be taken completely
3 W0 [* }' ]9 b' R' L' Gapart, each shaft was cut down, and then the final pieces had to be put back together.3 `/ O7 r2 i6 e& D
There was one design change from the Prototype to the final product.
/ ]# Y+ m, L1 b) n" b0 d% ZIn the Prototype I had a press ON / press Off switch. I glued this inside the insert: f$ q9 |& ]" u/ q. ^
under the Cam. I drilled a hole through the top of the insert, right where the Cam3 O& }# ~$ R3 f a& M
met the Cam Spring. A piece of paperclip was attached to the top of the switch. Now
1 c* S* T' g7 y: { ewhen the cap opened it would swing the Cam, moving the Cam Spring down pushing the
' c& K: k- T7 y/ Sthe switch on. Then when the Cap was closed it would reverse the process turning off
- E M. h6 n) X4 S/ jthe switch. Well I put it all together....... and it worked! But not reliably. Well when I showed it
2 L w$ B5 z$ j8 ~' d5 b4 Qto the guys in black suits, they didn't like it. So I designed in Safety Pin. This pin arms the device.
