Where's the flint dispenser when you need it the most? Not in your pocket - that's for sure. Luckily, there's a solution that guarantees "No more annoying Flat Flint experiences".

* q9 R- [/ ?; D2 V6 f% s3 rRemove the felt padding from the inside of the body of the Zippo.

Step 2:

; o5 g! y4 m5 }2 b+ d: @Use a awl, or other sharp pointy tool and pierce the felt as shown. Make the holes pretty much the same depth as a piece of flint. 9 z8 r1 P ^5 |! X& s" V j

! `3 s1 c. M! P! }Insert the flints in those new holes, and make sure that they are firmly secured in the felt.

Now, simply put the Zippo back together and you are all set with a nice little backup solution!

PS! This article was written before Zippo introduced the refill hole on the felt pad. The felt hole can easily carry an extra flint. If you want to carry more than one extra, simply add more holes. |
